Configure the Service

The listener server is installed as a Windows Service, and can be controlled as any other service via the Services applet.

It may need configuration, depending on your requirements. By default, it uses an environment variable to determine where to actually write the consolidated log.

  • You should set REMOTELOG4NETLOGDIR to the full path of the directory where you want your consolidated logs.

Once you've done that, and provided you use the default port 8085, and the firewall is open, that's it.

If you want, you can customize it to any extent, by editing the configuration file, which is located in "%ProgramFiles%\Axantum\Log4net Remoting Server Service\", and named Log4netRemotingServerService.exe.config .
